Privacy notice

SCWISP (Southern Cape WISP) respects your privacy and handles your personal information as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires.

What we collect

When you check coverage or ask to be connected, we collect your name, phone number, email address if you give it, your address or the location you share or tap on the map, the package you're interested in and anything you write to us.

Why we collect it

To check whether we can reach you, to contact you about getting connected, to book a site survey and, if you become a client, to provide and bill your service. We don't sell your information or use it for anything else.

Who sees it

Only SCWISP staff who need it to help you. Your address search is processed by Google Maps, and the map uses OpenStreetMap, under their own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't go ahead are deleted after 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
